Welcome to Yes! You Can Eat This, a space where cooking with multiple food intolerances can be easy, and delicious, without compromising on flavour or fun! Here, I’ll share meals and tips that are easy to make yet tasty enough to share and enjoy with everyone at your table—so no one has to feel left out.
Who is this for?

A veggie, but avoiding soy and/or dairy?
Do you have a unique combination of food intolerances and preferences (vegetarian, plant-based, or vegan)?
Or do you cook for someone with a list of things they can’t eat?
Or maybe you’re a home cook who loves entertaining and wants to feel confident creating dishes that cater to your guests’ needs. If so, come and join us.
Whatever the reason, if you're looking for easy, flexible recipes that adapt to your needs and make your taste buds do a happy dance, you’re in the right place.
Why Yes You Can Eat This?
This space is all about turning what might seem like limitations into new opportunities for flavour and creativity with ease.
I’m Melissa, and I became a vegetarian at 15. As I got older, I developed some food intolerances, too, and had to say goodbye to gluten, dairy, and soy. Finding suitable recipes was challenging—I ate the same meals on repeat and spent more time cooking from scratch, whether I had the energy or not. And I really missed cheese.
From that place, it was a tall order to find food I could not only eat but genuinely enjoy. Something had to change.
So, I got creative—experimenting with recipes, rediscovering the joy of cooking, and embracing new flavours. After trying these dishes, my friends encouraged me to share my recipes in case they could help others too.
How Yes! You Can Eat This Benefits You
With over 20 years of experience cooking for veggies and those with food intolerances, I’ve created a series of tested, easy-to-follow recipes—from everyday meals to dishes for special gatherings.
Here’s how this makes life easier:
Ingredients from Local Shops: All recipes use ingredients you can find in most supermarkets. And I focus on reducing food waste by repurposing elements from one meal to another.
Customisable and Flexible: Each recipe includes substitution and mix-and-match options (like pairing a sauce with various bases) so you can adapt meals to your needs and be creative with your cooking.
Inclusive Dishes: These meals are designed to appeal to meat-eaters, vegetarians, and plant-based eaters alike—no need for separate dishes!
Expect recipes like lime and chilli butter sweet potato hash or crispy mushroom and pickled red cabbage tacos. And yes, you can eat these!
When You Subscribe…
For the cost of a coffee or a small glass of wine, I’ll provide the recipes and show you how to reduce your meal prep time—leaving you more time to enjoy what you cook!
